Tribes ‘Whenever’ (Tipped for 2011)
This band have earned their way to the top. They’ve created their own hype. They make it hard for their fans to find out more about them by only putting gig posters up and not having much info about them on the internet, and this has all lead to Tribes supporting the Mystery Jets, the Pixies, and being a part of BBC Introducing week on Radio 1.
I’m gutted that I missed these when I went to see the Mystery Jets (damn my misjudgement of time), but hopefully this Camden crew will be on the festival circuit in the summer. With a song like ‘Wherever’, no doubt they’ll find that they won’t have to create the hype about themselves anymore; people will do it for them.
