The Horrors Secret Gig
To celebrate the release of their new and really rather good album ‘Skying’, The Horrors announced a secret free gig last night (July 11th) at The Shacklewell Arms in Dalston. Despite ‘doors opening at 8pm’, I was told that all wristbands had sold out by half 6 (damn you guestlisters). However giving up wasn’t an option; I WAS going to see the band in this tiny venue...

The weekend where I officially became a music...
I’ve been back at Uni for a month now, but this weekend was the first where I stayed in Nottingham, and boy was it a goodun’. I had three gigs lined up, all bands who I hadn’t seen before so to say I was excited was an understatement!
The first on my musical list were the mighty Black Keys at Rock City. I managed to get to the barrier, where I witnessed a rock n roll spectacle. It should be...

My interview with Everything Everything for Fly FM →
Click on the link above for the interview that I did with the lovely Everything Everything, before their sold out gig at the Bodega Social Club. My first interview of the term, and thanks to the niceness and openness of this band it was a great start to this year in my opinion!
Their debut album, ‘Man Alive’ is out now.

KEXP- A radio station that has taken my heart.
I’ve found a gem of a radio station here on the wonderful interweb, the brilliant KEXP, based in Seattle. Offering more than listening live, I’m more interested in the sessions that they do, and the amazing artists that they get involved to do them. Searching through years 2001 to now, the range of artists to do acoustic sessions is phenomenal, and I found myself gasping and having...

click here to hear the first play of my BBC Radio... →
Alright guys!
So as some may know, I’ve been very lucky to have been chosen as the voice of BBC Radio 1xtra Live, which is a free show at Wembley arena held by 1xtra! Trevor Nelson announced the line up on his show last night (Saturday), which meant my voiceover was used for the first time! I can’t explain how happy I am with getting it, and it was SO weird hearing it last night!...

TRIBES- 'Himalaya' →
Here’s a song that I’ve stumbled upon thanks to the Mystery Jets. They tweeted on Monday that they think ‘Tribes are single handedly saving English guitar music’. This certain song appealed to me because of how good it could sound live. Tribes are currently supporting MJ atm, and if you got to see them at Somerset House then don’t tell me, because I will hurt you.

happy 40th birthday Glastonbury..
So, I’m going to be one of those annoying people who wish Glastonbury a happy birthday..even though I’d never been before. Until this year! I could write 10 pages on my time there, but lucky you I’ve decided against that. Instead I’ll just write my highlights, and tell you how much better Glastonbury is than Reading Festival at any given chance.
Who were my favourite acts...

Flash a Hungry Smile for Fool's Day
So, this is a first on this blog where I tell you about new music being released this week, but the calibre of the music is that good I had to share.
If I mention the bands Blur or Mystery Jets, are you suddenly grasping for air because you’re getting excited about the mere mention of them? Yes? Then wonderful, because both bands have released BRAND SPANKING NEW SINGLES this week, for FREE....
Click here to listen to Trevor Dann's "It's... →
So at the end of term, Fly FM saw around 300 student radio enthusiasts descend upon Nottingham Trent Uni for the Student Radio Conference 2010, and wow what a couple of days they were. Speakers such as Andy Parfitt, Paul Jackson and Trevor Dann gave talks on the radio industry throughout the day, and also saw the likes of Scott Mills spinning tunes into the night. It was an incredibly insightful...

no distance left to run.
I’ve just watched Blur’s documentary ‘No Distance Left To Run’ on BBC iPlayer, I’ll admit it, I got goosebumps. I’ve always been more of a Blur than Oasis fan, but this just sealed the deal. The difference in characters between the bands are so contrasting, and the documentary just left me thinking of Blur as a band who anyone could be friends with. Damon Albarn...
An Interview with..Bombay Bicycle Club
The link to listen to the interview is http://www.zshare.net/audio/734250828031d80a/, for some reason it won’t upload on here!
Bombay Bicycle Club are a band that I’ve been following for a while. Since the age of 16/17, any demos that I could get my hands on, I’d take them and run a mile, shouting to anybody who’d listen that they had to give this band a chance. So the...
It's not what you know, it's who you know..
I definitely believe in karma. Since the beginning of the year, I’d had a list of work that I had to get through, and yesterday was the day that I finally got round to doing it all. So as it was getting later on a Friday night, I realised that I wanted to go out, but where? This is where Twitter came in. Winner of the Orange Unsigned Act, Tommy Reilly, is a friend of mine, and when one of...
Apologies!
Ahoy there!
So I have finally conquered the beast that was my Law essay, which means watch this space for interviews from OK Go, Bombay Bicycle Club and Blood Red Shoes!
Double Take
So, I’ll keep this short and sweet and let you ponder this for the rest of the day; has Noel Fielding and Florence Welch from Florence and the Machine ever been seen out together? If the answer is no, maybe it is because they are the same person? Look at the resemblance! I wouldn’t put it past Noel to create a fake artist and make them one of the most successful female artists at the...

..and here a blog is born!
Hello!
So, I thought that it was about time that I started a blog..especially since a) I like to talk, b) I like to use int’net, c) I like music and d)I like to use the internet to talk and use it for music! So voila! Here you lucky people can see what I’ve been up to/where I’ve been/my thoughts (clean, I’m not that open), but primarily I’m using this blog to put up my music interviews that I do...
